- CD Duplicator
- DVD Duplicator
Generally this means the capacity of your master is larger than the capacity of your blank disc.
High failure rates are usually due to condition of your master disc. We highly recommend that you remake the master disc. Remaking the master disc will reduce the failure rate considerable. Other recommendations includes:
The higher quality blank CD-R or DVD-R media you use will generally provide better results.
If the duplication fails, try another master CD/DVD and or new blank CD-R and DVD-R
A scratched master CD or DVD, or a mater CD/DVD With obvious physical damage may not duplicate
Keep the duplicator in a clean environment.
The fan on the rear of the duplicator should be kept clean and allowed reasonable room for air flow.
No, our duplicator are fully standalone.
Standalone means no computer is required to operate the duplicator.
Make sure the master is free of damage or blemishes and is produced on a high quality media brand. The master disc plays back successfully because the player only spins at 1X. During the burn process, the reader has to spin the disc at a much higher rate in order to match the duplicating speed. At high speeds the quality of the disc is magnified, making it essential to have a high quality master.
Burn in is that process by which components of a system are exercised prior to being placed in service (and often, prior to the system being completely assembled from those components). The intention is to detect those particular components that would fail. For electronic components, burn in is frequently conducted at elevated temperature and perhaps elevated voltage. This process may also be called heat soaking. The components may be under continuous test or simply tested at the end of the burn in period.
Here are two ways of manufacturing a CD or DVD:
Duplication means recording on a CD-R or DVD-R, just like you would a tape. A laser on the recorder drive burns the data on the recording dye layer of the disc. Duplication is ideal for smaller jobs, as there is no wait for a master tamper or for press setup.
Replication means the data is stamped on the disc, right into the plastic. Replication is ideal for jobs of 1000 units or larger, as the cost per disc is much lower in these larger quantities, compared to a fixed disc cost for duplication.
Prescan function is design for people who suspect they might have a bad master disc. You can always use this function to check if your master disc is readable with duplicator. The only difference between Prescan & Verify is Prescan only check the master, but Verify will read through all the data on all your target drives as well. This will ensure you have both readable master & copied discs.

97% of our duplicators are fully standalone, but due to our large product line please ask our sales if you have any doubt.
No, your CD duplicator will not duplicate DVDs.
This is likely due to the condition of the master disc. One possible solution would be to reduce the duplication speed. Remaking the master disc can also aid this situation.
A standard CD-R can hold approximately 74 minutes of audio or about 650MB. There is also 80 minute CD-Rs which holds 700mb.
CD-R stands for CD-Recordable. CD-R disc can only be written to once. CD-RW stands CD-Rewritable. This type of disc allows you to delete and reuse them.
There are a number of possible reasons. First, the media used may not be compatible with the player. Some CD players do not recognize certain media brands. Try a different media brand. Second, the session on the music CD might have been left open. You can not play a music CD on a regular CD player until the session has been closed. Third many old CD players that you purchase may not have capability to playback high speed burn media. In this case, please try to adjust the burn speed as minimum as possible.
Yes, in general most of our duplicators allow you to combine tracks on different master audio discs into one single audio disc. For example, you can make a collection of favorite songs from different master audio discs and store them into one disc. Please see duplicator manual for more details regarding this function.
The machine sometime may come with optional USB or Firewire connection. When you first setup your machine you might want to check following steps. First turn off your machine and go to the back of your machine. Second check if the machine comes with USB or Firewire connection port near the power supply or fan. Third make sure you switch the USB port switch to OFF position and turn the machine back ON again. Forth try to run a copy one more time.
It seems like the machine doesn't have proper voltage. Here is what you do to correct this problem. Go to the back of duplicator unit and check if there is a power voltage switch on the power supply and make sure it is set to 115V instead of 230V because some of our machine sold to European countries, so it may have different voltage setting. One other reason may cause the unit fail the drive randomly is because the CD/DVD media disk you using is not compatible with burners that we built in the machine. If this happen, please prepare couple different brands of media for testing.
The software comes with Mac OS system is only capable for detecting the certify Mac burner. If you are using other burners other than the Mac system certify, then you may need to use third party software, such as Roxio Toast for Mac OS.

No, Duplicator will only copy the exact content of the original disk, everything else should be done in mixer or computer except for Audio track edit.
Some of CD or VCD discs you bought from store are copyrighted and come with encryption. A lot of pirate copies on the market are made from a master that has been decrypted.
Please check on the back of your duplicator system and make sure the USB/Firewire connection is turn to OFF position. Restart the power after you change setting.

Yes, your DVD duplicator is capable for duplicating CD & DVD.
Yes, your DVD duplicators will duplicate both NTSC & PAL Video format, but it will not do a conversion either from NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC.
No. Your DVD duplicator will only copy all the contents on your master DVD. There is no selection option on the unit. All video editing must be done in computer.
No, there are two reasons why you cannot do so. First, the store bought or rented DVDs are dual layer disc, meaning the capacity of these disc are twice as large as the capacity of the regular DVD-R or DVD-RW, and thus will not fit. Second, the store bought or rented DVDs will likely contain copyrighted material and have appropriate security measures.
The capacity of a standard DVD disc is 4.7GB.
DVR-R stands for DVD-Recordable. DVD-R can only be written to once. DVD-RW stands DVD-Rewritable. This type of disc allows you to delete and reuse them.
-R was the first DVD recording format released and is compatible with about 93% of all DVD players. +R is a newer format and has some additional features such as lossless linking, CAV, and CLV writing. +R is compatible with about 88% of all DVD players.

Usually regular CD/DVD duplicators are not certifying for CD+G duplication. So please specify you want a CD+G capable machine at the time of purchase.
Usually our duplicator tower doesn't need any software update, so whatever the disk you use the writer will just set to the maximum speed they can write.
Most DVD+R media in the market doesn't support Test function when using the burner in the computer or duplicator. Please use DVD-R media if you rather do Test before Copy.
Most of DVD discs you bought from store are copyrighted and come with CSS protection. Also many of them are single side dual layer, which contains more than 4.7GB of data, so it will not fit into regular single layer 4.7GB DVD +/- R blank media. A lot of pirate copies on the market are made from a master that has been decrypted.
Please check on the back of your duplicator system and make sure the USB/Firewire connection is turn to OFF position. Restart the power after you change setting.
Usually the maximum burning speed is determined by the DVD-RW drive you purchase. Different brand name burners have different compatibility between different brand name blank media. So please check the specification & compatibility list with the drive manufacture.
The term "Daisy Chain" refers to the serial connection between the towers that connects the towers to each other. For example, tower A is connected to tower B, and tower B is connected to tower C, and so on.
No, the machine will not fail all of the discs inside the towers. It will only fail that particular disc.
Yes, the Daisy Chain Duplicator towers can be configured to work independently or linked in any number of possible configurations.
Yes, one disc is all that is needed for 100 towers, whether that disc is a CD or DVD or loaded into the HDD.
At last count, the maximum number of systems that can be connected together in the Daisy Chain Duplicator line is 255 towers.
At this time, the Daisy Chain Duplicators do not support loading the image to the HDD and copying simultaneously.
No, the connection of the cables between towers is color coded and simple to follow. The order of the towers is easily assigned in the Link Setup command of the duplicator.
The towers can be arranged in any order desired.
The power supply for each Daisy Chain Duplicator tower is 400 W.
The number of fans inside each case for the Daisy Chain Duplicator is seven- six for the drives, plus one for the power supply. The fans provide proper air circulation and cooling for the drives to ensure the reliability and system safety of the Daisy Chain Duplicator.
Linking two towers together of different brands of drives can be done, but is not recommended. Certain tower configurations have different burn specifications which may or may not be compatible with each other.
The daisy chain cable supplied for each tower is specifically designed to work with the Daisy Chain Duplicator. Longer DC cables are not recommended because data transfer may become difficult over longer cables and could damage your unit.
